Course Summary
This course focuses on critical analysis of US history, encouraging students to evaluate historical materials, interpret events, and make informed judgments. Students engage with readings, primary sources, and essays to deepen their understanding and develop critical thinking skills.
By the end of the course, the student will:
have gained knowledge of US history that will help them on the college-level exam;
understand the dynamic nature of history;
be able to analyze and synthesize primary source documents;
be able to discuss and analyze varying and, in many cases, conflicting interpretations of history; and
be able to write essays that are focused on the critical analysis of historical events, places, and people
